Twice the Tulsa

About a month after we moved in, our Tulsa family came to visit. We jam-packed the weekend full of activities, but we had 5 Birthdays (Aug 22, 23, 28, 31, Sept 1) that we had to celebrate too. We had a joint celebration for everyone...here's a pic of all the birthday girls and boys.

But it was Wade's mom's 60th and she deserved something just for her - so we took her to a local winery for a sunset dinner. The weather was great and it was a really beautiful night.

We took everyone down to St. Charles one night to walk Main Street and listen to a band down on the riverfront. We picked to go on an 80's band night and the kids danced their little hearts out...

It's pretty dark, but Riley is the one spazzing out in the middle, Brooke is the little one in there. I have other videos with more of this, but Riley dances so much like Wade in this one. I had to put it out here ;)

We stopped in for some appetizers and local brew at our hometown micro-brewery and the boys had themselves some locally made root beer.
Of course we did a ton of other things, the zoo (which was my favorite)...It's pretty hard to beat the STL zoo. It had this hippo that was putting on a show for everyone...cant even describe it but it was really amazing, and I've never seen a better penguin exhibit anywhere. One penguin decided to interact with Cade, then totally drenched him. Walking in Brooke mentioned that it "smelled like crab legs" and Cade kinda smelled like that the rest of the day. We did the Arch, lunch on the Landing, had a picnic lunch at Forest Park...
Really great weekend.

2 Weeks later we drove down to Tulsa for the TU season opener, which we won!
We usually tailgate with the TU Letterman (all Wade's old buddies) but Wade's best friend (who owns the spot) decided that'd be a good day to have a baby so little Reese was born a few weeks early...pretty nice of him to have the baby while we were there so we could meet her in her first 24 hours of life.

She really was a beautiful baby. Dark hair, big cheeks, so precious. Nothing gives you baby fever more than holding a precious newborn that sleeps like an angel. We're so excited for their new beautiful little family.
All in all had a great couple of Tulsa weekends.
