I'm back, sort of

We just can't seem to get healthy around here. We all passed the stomach thing around, and once we get past that, Riley develops strep and Brooke gets Roseola. Fun times in this germy house. But I think we're over the worst of it (knock on wood).

Have a request for those of you that will check this between now and Monday (Feb. 4th)....I'd like you to email me the best book you've ever read, your favorite, or just a real good one that you'd reccommend. It's my turn to pick the selections for my book club. I have to go in with 5 choices (and a description of each) and we vote on which one we want. So any help would be great...I just read one that I wasn't too crazy about (and feel like it wasted my time) so I don't want anyone to think that about my selections.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Will Blog Soon...

Whole family has some sort of nasty stomach bug we've been dealing with, except for Wade who is in San Diego for work (convienent). So I'm flying solo...how come there's no traveling with my job?

Christmas and End of Year Recap

Here's our family on Christmas day...

Just to recap the end of the year, it's been a busy one between Christmas parties and festivities...

It "snowed" again on the 23rd...just a light dusting, but Riley and Cade scraped every inch of snow possible to make another "Frosty".

On Christmas Eve, Riley lost her 4th tooth...her other top front one. So now I can make that scrapbook page "All I Want for Christmas is my 2 Front Teeth". Love it.

It's pretty rare that the tooth fairy AND Santa Claus come the same night...but we're proof that it is possible. Although Riley wanted to leave a note for the tooth fairy so she would know not to take the presents-that they weren't for her. We also left her a cookie...but she just licked off all the frosting.

Christmas, of course, was fabulous. So much so that I just didn't get any pictures of the kids riping into their gifts, we just totally enjoyed the moment. They were so happy. When Cade came out and saw their new train table his mouth dropped open and you heard a gasp...then silence...it was like he was stuck...he couldn't move, he couldn't talk. It was so funny. We had to pry him away to open his other gifts. We did "round one" of our gifts in the morning...just ours and Santas. Then Wade's parents, Mike, Katie, Wesley and Clark came over and after breakfast we did "round 2". (I managed to get a few pictures this time). Naps came shortly thereafter and then it was "over the river and through the woods"...which is actually just across the creek and few steps from our house now to Grandmothers House, now that we're all in the
same 'hood.

After an early dinner we did "round 3" with the extended family (grandma, aunts and uncles, etc)... I think there were 25 for dinner, quite the crowd...but wonderful food. Riley learned how to bowl on the Wii (Nintendo) and was quite awesome on it...she beat some of the adults (must be her mom's bowling skills from her days back in St. Chuck).

The day following Christmas I chopped off my hair (11 inches) and donated it to Locks of Love, which is an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients. I haven't been able to recreate the hair style I walked out of the salon with, but everyday I get a little more used to it and slowly I'm learning. I think I look like a soccer mom now...but I guess I kinda am.

Happy New Year to everyone! It's going to be a good one...
