Christmas and End of Year Recap

Here's our family on Christmas day...

Just to recap the end of the year, it's been a busy one between Christmas parties and festivities...

It "snowed" again on the 23rd...just a light dusting, but Riley and Cade scraped every inch of snow possible to make another "Frosty".

On Christmas Eve, Riley lost her 4th tooth...her other top front one. So now I can make that scrapbook page "All I Want for Christmas is my 2 Front Teeth". Love it.

It's pretty rare that the tooth fairy AND Santa Claus come the same night...but we're proof that it is possible. Although Riley wanted to leave a note for the tooth fairy so she would know not to take the presents-that they weren't for her. We also left her a cookie...but she just licked off all the frosting.

Christmas, of course, was fabulous. So much so that I just didn't get any pictures of the kids riping into their gifts, we just totally enjoyed the moment. They were so happy. When Cade came out and saw their new train table his mouth dropped open and you heard a gasp...then silence...it was like he was stuck...he couldn't move, he couldn't talk. It was so funny. We had to pry him away to open his other gifts. We did "round one" of our gifts in the morning...just ours and Santas. Then Wade's parents, Mike, Katie, Wesley and Clark came over and after breakfast we did "round 2". (I managed to get a few pictures this time). Naps came shortly thereafter and then it was "over the river and through the woods"...which is actually just across the creek and few steps from our house now to Grandmothers House, now that we're all in the
same 'hood.

After an early dinner we did "round 3" with the extended family (grandma, aunts and uncles, etc)... I think there were 25 for dinner, quite the crowd...but wonderful food. Riley learned how to bowl on the Wii (Nintendo) and was quite awesome on it...she beat some of the adults (must be her mom's bowling skills from her days back in St. Chuck).

The day following Christmas I chopped off my hair (11 inches) and donated it to Locks of Love, which is an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients. I haven't been able to recreate the hair style I walked out of the salon with, but everyday I get a little more used to it and slowly I'm learning. I think I look like a soccer mom now...but I guess I kinda am.

Happy New Year to everyone! It's going to be a good one...
